The Best Additives for Our Vertical Stamped Concrete

Comparison with Other Wall Coverings
Why is this the option that best balances aesthetics, durability, and cost?
Before deciding which finish to apply to your walls, it’s a good idea to evaluate how the different options perform in terms of durability, maintenance, weight, and aesthetics. The following comparison summarizes the performance characteristics of the most common wall finishes—single-layer mortar, paint, exposed brick, and natural stone—compared to Pavicret vertical stamped concrete, so you can determine which option offers the best balance between cost, durability, and design.
| Criterion | Vertical Stamped Concrete | Single-coat mortar | Acrylic exterior paint | Exposed brick / brick veneer | Natural stone |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Durability (average service life) | 20–30 years | 20–30 years | 20–30 years | 20–30 years | 20–30 years |
| Maintenance | Bass (washed and resealed) | Medium (cleaning + water repellent) | High (periodic repainting) | Medium-high (grouted) | Medium (specific cleaning) |
| Thickness / Weight | 10–20 mm / 20–30 kg/m² | 10–15 mm / 20 kg/m² | 0.3 mm / ≈20 kg/m² | ≥15 kg/m² | 50–90 kg/m² |
| Customization | 150+ molds, 18 colors | Limited to exposed and scraped aggregate | Wide range of colors, no embossing | Limited colors and formats | Natural shades of the stone |
| Installed Cost* | 30–50 €/m² | 20–35 €/m² | 10–25 €/m² | 40–70 €/m² | 60–100 €/m² |

Advantages of Vertical Stamped Concrete
- Thixotropy that doesn’t hang up
Its thick formulation allows it to be projected or troweled up to 30 mm without slippage, which speeds up work on high walls. - CS IV structural strength and low water absorption (W1)
It withstands impacts, freezing temperatures, and thermal cycles better than conventional plaster and limits water penetration.
- Interior + Exterior with the same color chart
UV-stable inorganic pigments that maintain color and texture on facades, baseboards, and interior walls. - Endless Textures
With vertical molds, you can recreate the look of stone, brick, railroad ties, or sculpted rock without adding structural weight. - Virtually no maintenance
Continuous surface—with no joints where dirt can accumulate—that only requires occasional washing and resealing every 3–4 years.

The Best Accessories for Our Flooring
Additives enhance the final result: they improve adhesion, prevent the mortar from sticking to the mold, provide a non-slip texture, and extend the finish’s lifespan.

FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions About Concrete for Walls
What types of surfaces can I apply it to?
On concrete, blocks, brick, cement-based plaster, and—when used with PaviLat Text as a primer—even on old ceramic tiles.
What thickness do I need?
Between 10 and 15 mm for medium-depth reliefs; up to 30 mm for deep reliefs using PaviCret TXT.
How long does it take to harden?
It can be removed from the formwork after 12–24 hours; structural strength is fully developed after 28 days, just like any hydraulic mortar.
Do you need sealant?
Yes. We recommend applying PaviSol resin after 48 hours to enhance the color and make cleaning easier, and reapplying it every 3–4 years.
Is it suitable for coastal areas or areas prone to frost?
Its W1 rating and resistance to freeze-thaw cycles make it ideal for both salty and cold climates.
Can I combine several colors?
You can sprinkle oxides onto the piece while it’s still wet or apply glazes after removing it from the mold to achieve an aged look and multicolored effects.
What tools do I need for stamping?
Set of vertical molds, diamond-tipped roller, and spray bottle for liquid release agent.
What is the cost per square meter installed?
Most installers in 2025 charge between 30 and 50 €/m² depending on the terrain, height, and number of colors.
